How to Configure Pop-up Blockers to Access Online Courses

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Select Tools > Pop-up Blocker > Pop-up Blocker Settings…

• Click to open the Pop-up Blocker Settings window

3. In the Pop-up Blocker Settings window:

• Enter www.cw.bc.ca in the text field under “Address of Web site to allow”
• Click Add
• http://www.cw.bc.ca/ will be added to the list of “Allowed Sites”
• Click Close

1. Open Mozilla Firefox

2. Select Tools > Options > Content…

• Next to Block Popup Windows, click Allowed Sites

3. In the Allowed Sites – Popups window:

• Enter www.cw.bc.ca in the text field under “Address of web site”
• Click Allow
• http://www.cw.bc.ca/ will be added to the list of “Allowed Sites”
• Click Close > OK

1. Open Internet Explorer

2. Go to the C&W website - http://www.cw.bc.ca/

3. Click the Pop-up Blocker button

4. Google Toolbar will no longer block pop-up windows from the C&W website

1. In the task tray (area beside the clock):

• Right-click the Norton Internet Security icon
• Select and click Disable Norton Internet Security to open Protection Alert dialog box

2. In the Protection Alert dialog box:

• Click the drop-down box
• Select the duration of for Norton Internet Security to be turned off by clicking on it
• Click OK to disable Norton Internet Security for the selected duration.

3. The Norton Internet Security icons in the task tray will indicate that it is disabled.

1. Double-click Norton Internet Security icon in the task tray to open the program window.

2. In the Norton Internet Security window:

• In the Status & Settings selection, click on Privacy Control
• Click Configure to open the Privacy Control configuration window

3. Click Advanced to open more security settings.

4. Create a security profile for the C&W website

• Click Add Site to bring up the New Site/Domain dialog box
• Clear the text field and enter www.cw.bc.ca
• Click OK

5. Configure security settings for the C&W website

• Make sure www.cw.bc.ca is selected on the side scroll area
• Click on the Global Settings tab
• Uncheck all the checkboxes marked “Use default settings”
• Select the all the radio buttons marked “Permit”
• Click on the User Settings tab
• Uncheck all the checkboxes marked “Use…settings”
• Select the all the radio buttons marked “Permit”
• Click OK to close Advanced Dialog Box
