This program is for parents of children with type 1 diabetes who:

  • Have a basic understanding of type 1 diabetes and
  • Would like to gain knowledge, skill and confidence to make insulin adjustments

Computer requirements:

When you have finished the learning modules, you will be able to:
  • State age appropriate blood sugar goals
  • Interpret blood sugar readings
  • Explain how different insulins work
  • Identify when an insulin adjustment is needed
  • Apply the guidelines for insulin adjustment
  • Adjust insulin for high or low blood sugars
  • Adjust insulin for activity
  • Adjust insulin for illness
  • Identify when to call for help
